Beatles exhibit gets a reboot at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

  • Source: The Plain Dealer
  • By: John Soeder

As part of an ongoing redesign, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum recently unveiled a revamped Beatles exhibit.

BEATLEnews - Among the artifacts on view for the first time in the main exhibition hall are a black wool coat that John Lennon wore in the film “Help!” and Paul McCartney’s handwritten arrangement for “Birthday.”

Also not to be missed: a leather jacket that Lennon wore when the Liverpool lads were honing their chops in Hamburg, Germany, in the early 1960s, the Mellotron that McCartney played on “Strawberry Fields Forever” and a pair of tickets to the Fab Four’s concert Aug. 14, 1965, at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium -- $5.50 a pop for upper-box seats!

Check out the photo gallery for some other fab highlights.

I was at the Aug 14, 1966 show sponsored by WIXY radio, lower box seats $5.50, ticket stub in my hands in perfect condition. It was a high energy incredible show, unforgettable. One of the last dates the band played live, the old stadium rocked that night.

Sounds good. Not going until they put Ringo in there as a solo artist. Sorry, he really deserves it at least for his early `70s success. Also, he has stuck with the whole albums, touring routine just like McCartney has. Ringo has also had some great albums since Anthology..

I remember seeing Paul play with that Mellotron in the Flaming Pie video. He must have lent it out to RRHOF as I`m sure he would not sell it.
