Paul McCartney Reportedly Releasing Deluxe ‘Ram’ Reissue This Spring

We’ve known for awhile that Paul McCartney would be continuing his series of catalog reissues with a deluxe version of 1971′s ‘Ram,’ but now details are starting to surface regarding the release — and we could see the results on store shelves before summer.

McCartney certainly seems to be in a nostalgic frame of mind these days: he’s offering a reproduction of his 1971 single ‘Another Day/Oh Woman, Oh Why’ on 7″ vinyl for this year’s Record Store Day event on April 21. And according to a report at the Second Disc, the official label information reads, “this exclusive reissue single is taken from the forthcoming Paul McCartney Archive Collection edition of ‘Ram’ coming this spring!”

According to another report, we can expect to see the ‘Ram’ reissue as soon as May — and it looks like it’ll come in a variety of configurations, including an “ultra deluxe edition” that could conceivably pack in even more material than the “three-CD, one-DVD set that has been in the works for over a year.”

That’s a heck of a lot more content than McCartney fans were treated to with the 1993 ‘Ram’ reissue, which tacked on ‘Another Day’ and ‘Oh Woman, Oh Why’ as bonus tracks. Have you been waiting for an “ultra deluxe” ‘Ram’ — and if so, what are you hoping to hear (and see) in this package?

I don`t think McCartney`s silliness hurt him. It`s those with no humor who wanted to hurt him. Being silly is fun, it feels good, but some miserable people always have problems with it and want to take you down.

<<monkberry moon delight>> I think this is an example where Paul`s silliness hurt him, and he did it a lot. Just the title of the song is a turn off.

I`m not sure what I`m hoping to hear/see. I`m not sure how much unreleased material worthy of release is in the vaults. McCartney was very productive in those days (still are), two albums and a couple of singles in 1971, it would surprise me if there`s a lot of new/old songs, but of course, "Ram" is quite a produced album, it would be interesting to hear demos and stuff. Well, it`s McCartney, almost anything is interesting to hear, I would love hear him fart, that would be cool, I wonder if he ever did that inot a microphone. If he did, release it! I would love listening to it while eating dinner.

Ram On! The most underrated album in rock history. From the pure pop harmonies of Dear Boy, to the abbey road worthy medley uncle albert/admiral halsey to the most amazing vocal of monkberry moon delight, this one deserves the attention in never got by the critics and cool folks. Ok, supposedly cool folks. The real fans know! Wow, I hope it`ll include Rode All Night and maybe a few things we`ve never heard...
