In an article dated January 31 2012, gamerant.com says that McCartney will create all the music for the game. More interesting is what is said next in the last paragraph, I quote, "According to Harmonix staffer Brian Chan’s resumé, he is the lead designer on an “unannounced title” that will be releasing on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, and Facebook (weird, right?)."
Reading into that, one could speculate the "unannounced title" could be this mystery McCartney project. Or, one can not speculate but what fun would that be. Below is the article, you read, you decide. Comment on this article and let me know what you think.

It’s a good time for fans of music gaming, as rock legend Paul McCartney currently has a mystery project in the works
Yes, one of two surviving Beatles, Paul McCartney (the other being Ringo Starr) has expressed interest in creating a music game to release to the public. In fact, McCartney’s working on the title right now. However, there is no further information as to who is publishing it or who is even developing it.
McCartney’s no stranger to the video game world, as he and his other band mates were featured prominently in The Beatles: Rock Band, which featured a great deal of the band’s library. Sadly, there hasn’t been and will not be any support for that particular iteration of Rock Band.
This time around, McCartney sounds like he’s going to be invested in helping create a game with all original music written by McCartney himself. In a statement the Liverpool man gave to Express, he explained why gaming now has his attention:
“It’s a fascinating market. A new computer game sells so much better than a new CD these days. Young people will hear my music for the first time in a game.”
That statement may sound somewhat convoluted, but we’re presuming McCartney means that the younger generation will first be exposed to the former Beatle’s music in his game…or in The Beatles: Rock Band, whichever is really more convenient at that point.
Speaking of Harmonix, when they’re not busy supporting a great Child’s Play charity event the company is still working on new projects that aren’t just limited to the continued support of Rock Band 3 or Dance Central 2 DLC. According to Harmonix staffer Brian Chan’s resumé, he is the lead designer on an “unannounced title” that will be releasing on Xbox LIVE, PlayStation Network, and Facebook (weird, right?).
Harmonix’s official statement regarding the title’s development shall give some insight into what the company is working on.
“As we’ve stated before, our studio is growing and hard at work on a variety of titles. In a storied Harmonix tradition, our designers start working on those games before they’re publicly announced. We’re excited to confirm more information soon, probably via a LinkedIn update or something – we haven’t decided.”
You have to love Harmonix and their ability to make fun of being “official” when it comes to making large announcements. Many of you will remember when the company unveiled their entire Rock Band 3 song list in a not-so-subtle way when responding to purported song list leaks.
Interesting news on the music game front, but what interests you the most?
