Paul McCartney and his band will appear in High Definition on HDnet as part of their Concert Series on Sunday May 2nd. As it llooks like they will show a great deal of the recently released DVD, Good Evening New York City (GENYC). Those who have a HD TV but no Blue Ray copy of GENYC, it's a chance to see Paul in 16:9 ratio high definition as it was recorded live.
From HDnet's website hd.net 8:00 PM ET - Paul McCartney: Good Evening New York City - As the inaugural musical event at Citi Field, the site of the former Shea Stadium, the July 2009 shows held special significance not only for McCartney but for generations of his fans. The shows were performed on the same hallowed ground that The Beatles, in 1965, played the 34-minute show that would set the precedent for the modern day stadium rock show--and where in 2008 McCartney joined Billy Joel for the final rock show before the original stadium's demolition.
The HDNet Concert Series kicked off an unforgettable run of eleven blockbuster concerts in eleven weeks each airing for their first time on HDNet. The all-star line up began on Sunday, April 18 with Mariah Carey and then rolls on every Sunday with a monster schedule including James Taylor, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Green Day and more.
