Summer '09 Tour: DALLAS 08-19-09 Fan Reports

Report by James Stone:
Sir Paul was as energetic and graceful as ever from beginning to The End.  The visuals were a little different from his 2005 tour through Dallas due no doubt to the expanse of the stage in the ultra gynormous new Cowboys Stadium.  Two towering vertical jumbo-trons on each side of the stage captured every wink, nod and expression on Sir Paul’s face.  My perspective was 25 rows back in the center floor and I still caught myself watching the massive screens.

I was fine until “Blackbird” appeared and the tears came, followed by “Here Today.”  I wasn’t the only one wiping my face down after those two.  But in that magic fashion that we are all familiar with, Sir Paul makes everything alright again with the hook of the century song “Dance Tonight.”  A very special moment arrived when he spoke about his childhood thoughts on what he imagined Texas was like and that Buddy Holly was from Texas and then the entire band went straight into a version of “Its So Easy.”  The George tribute with “Something” was more fleshed out with the band and “I’ve Got A Feeling” rocked beyond expectation.  The 2nd encore seemed a little rushed but was still the monumental climax that every concert strives for but so very few can achieve.  This 67 year old Beatle makes it look incredibly easy and makes all of us younger for it. God bless Sir Paul.

We took our 21 yr old son to the Dallas concert. It was fabulous! We had never seen MACCA in concert and it was wonderful to share that as a family. He is just an amazing entertainer... he had such energy and really looked like he was having a blast. The audience was pumped and I hope he enjoyed us too. This has been one of my life dreams and I finally got to see him in person. So happy!!!

Seems like he rocked harder last night than I`ve ever seen him before. A Day in the Life/Give Peace a Chance was good to hear along with Calico Skies. This definitely was the show to see. Missed him at American Airlines Center in 2005, but caught him in Chicago on that same tour. Never a disappointment. Hope he and the band have a nice "holiday". How about putting the Summer `09 shows by city on iTunes? Go Paul go.
