A GUITAR amplifier signed by Sir Paul McCartney sold for £3,900 in a charity auction on eBay.

Proceeds from the sale of the hand-wired Vox AC15H1TV amp went to The No More Landmines campaign.

Sir Paul, who returned to the city to play the Liverpool Sound Concert on June 1, said: “Cluster bomblets and anti-personnel mines are unacceptable when they kill and injure innocent civilians.

“I call upon individuals, organisations and politicians to do all they can to reduce the impact of these weapons.”
