PRESS RELEASE!!

LAWRENCE GILMOUR (Paul McCartney)

Lawrence Gilmore I've been a mega fan of Macca since I was 6. More recently I've been paying tribute to him performing on TV (including Stars In their Eyes) and in theatre shows in the UK and worldwide. I was both shocked and extremely excited when asked to be involved in his new promo video. It was for his forthcoming single 'No other Baby'

I spent 2 days from ' 8 till late ' on location with Paul. Basically I was standing in for the wide shots it was more of a 'body double' than for lookalike shots. I tend to look a bit like Paul of the 80s/early 90s. The real satisfaction for me is trying to sing those great songs like him, but having the complete image does help.

There was lots of time to talk in between takes. He was great to me, very approachable and friendly. I heard the production team remark that he was one of the best 'stars ' to work with ever.

I got to hold the Epiphone (shown on the front cover of his new album "Run Devil Run" ) He told me it was the guitar he played the "Taxman" solo on. We sang a couple of songs together - he played acoustic. What a thrill that was! There were many special private moments which I will cherish to myself, for a long time.

I was very impressed with him. I admired him before, now I admire and respect him even more. I was able to tell him a lot about what I've been up to. He even took the time to show me a few things on my own Hofner violin bass.

We may never meet again, but I think I had more than my fair share with my idol and mentor.
