Without You

Great song. Of course it's been covered by tons of folks. (Most notably Harry Nilsson)

I did find it kind of ironic that it was played in the film "Rules of Attraction" while a girl was committing suicide. (They played the Nilsson verion, but one can't help but be reminded of the fate of Ham and Evans)

Sad, that. One of their band members wound up as a stock man in a record company warehouse here in town. My brother, while in high school, worked with him. This was the early 80's. And I'm not kidding. I need to ask him which one again and what his name was the next time I see him....

That's pretty crazy. You hear stories like that about other bands from time to time. It's a tough business...

WAD----my bro said he was very quiet and just stuck to his job, etc. He wasn't there more than like 6-7 months. The suicide thing with that group was just very very sad, as it is with anyone, anywhere.

Really sad story of them...horrible indeed. But what do you think that could be done to avoid such fact???

Peace.

Harry Nilsson's version is great and there is the story that John Lennon force Harry to sing it the way he did to the point of coughing up blood. But I have always liked the raw version just a tad more.

Not too many Pete Ham song I do not like. He was the McCartney of Badfinger.

Pete Ham was a genius songwriter. You have to wonder why, when all the legal bull-o-knee was going on about Badfinger, that some record executive didn't offer Ham a solo album. All you have to is listen to the 2 demo albums and realize this guy could write a hit with the best of them. Somebody screwed up big time.[:(]

Mariah Carey had a monsterhit with the song in 1994. I hate her version!!

Yeah...me too! Sewing size 4 tags in her size 10's is a bit extreme. Admit it, Mariah..you've fallen prey to the Nicks/Ann Wilson Syndrome.
