No live-album??

Postby EddieV » Thu Dec 01, 2005 2:35 pm

As far as I know there is not a live album released by the Beatles?

Maybe this could be something for the future?

The Beatles: Live at the BBC
"Wings IV introduced Jimmy McCulloch, a spunky lead guitarist with grit, able to spur Paul on unlike any previous soloist. His debut track, the magnificent single `Junior's Farm', stands as one of Wings' finest emotional and technical releases."

I seem to recall a Beatles live at the Hollywood Bowl. My guess it released aroung 1976. The concert was short, and nearly inaudible due to the shreaking fans. But the back cover had the best little anecdote written by George Martin, about his daughter (must've been around age 11 or 12) asking him (George) if the Beatles were as good as the Bay City Rollers. he told her probably not, then said how fun it would be to watch her find out the truth. Classic.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

I've never seen the Hollywood Bowl album on CD yet. I have the vinyl and I think the sound it really interesting with all the screaming...sort of like you are there in the audience.

IS EMI WAITING UNTIL ALL THE BEATLES ARE DEAD BEFORE THEY RE-MASTER THE CATALOGUE!!!! :x

I know of Live at the BBC and Hollywood Bowl. Live at the BBC isn´t a concert and Hollywood Bowl was released by Capitol and not officially.

What do you mean not officially? The Beatles were on Capital records here in North America....so how can that not be official? :?: :)

Hollywood Bowl IS an offical release.....1977, Capitol. No CD version to date, though.

There's a good way to compose your own officially released concert

songs by cherry picking the live concert cuts included on the Beatles

Anthology discs and stringing them together, also a single of one of the

Threetles new songs released at the same time had a B-side of a live

concert cut, check it out. As far as available semi-official live down-

loadable CD's (Russian site) the extended Holllywood Bowl (2 CD's is

pretty good and an occassionally brilliant Austrailian Concert with a

Scortching, sonically clear/bright Twist and Shout!

Me, I would like to see Let it Be released on DVD (with "bonus extras") as well as (especially) Hollywood Bowl on CD. My only copy (I bought it in 1977) got stolen by a guy I played in a band with (never saw him or the record again -since 1978!) I sure would love to hear it again, esp since G. Martin said the sound quality from the board on that particular show was so good... (compared with most other live shows, which were screamed-out)
