Dear Prudence
Back In The USSR

I can't recall anymore at this very moment.

As far as I know, the drumming on DP and BITUSSR is Paul's, with some assistance by George. During those recording days Ringo had gone to Sardinia w/ his family. He was stressed out with the tensions within the band so he quit the Beatles for about a forthnight and took off with his family to sail on Petter Sellers' yatch.

Sr.Berk, you've been read MYFN book from end to end...c'mon, you can tell me.

You know what ? I have not. I lifted the most of that from "The Beatles Recording Sessions" (1988) (referred to as "the [other] bible" by Paul himself - I wish I could recall where I read this).

Polythene Pam/She came In Through the Bathroom Window.
Ringo himself has said that his drumming in those two songs was amongst his finest ever.

His drumming is damn good in Savoy Truffle and Old Brown Shoe.
And don't forget his own Don't Pass Me By.

I was thumbing through the Many Years From Now bio, and Paul says one of the things Ringo did well that got him into the Beatles was playing rhythms like Ray Charles' drummer on What'd I Say, which is what they had him play in I Feel Fine.... it IS pretty slick! 8)

Best rock drumming ever (both done in 1966 - The Beatles' best year): Rain, She Said, She Said.
