Saw that special, what a good guy he seems to be after taking the grandfather of all screwings. If anyone ever starts telling him there troubles all he has to say is "yeah but I got dumped by the beatles just before they made it big" who can ever top that? Poor guy. He has a lot of class to not be more bitter.

Fate replaces a very weak drummer with a more well known local with a huge personality and great feel for the backbeat. I don't call that a screwing..I call that a good move.

Do he get royalties on the few Ringo-less Beatle recordings, I wonder? :? He's prolly made a buck or two with his degree-of-separation Beatle status, that ain't so bad. I think he's touring the US now or has very recently. I'd definitely go see him if he weren't too far away. Hey, an ex-Beatle is an ex-Beatle!

I'll bet he was glad not to have gone to the Philippines in '66!

Steve-o, did you see the special? According to several members of other bands performing at the time he wasn't an inferior drummer. There are many guesses as to why he was replaced.
Some say he was the most popular and that didn't set well with the other guys.
He himself admits Epstein came on to him and he declined.

We will never know for sure I guess but I think there is more to it than just poor drummer replaced by better drummer

- He said on the special that when the Anthology albums came out they used about 10 songs with him on them and he did receive royalties for those. Not sure if he receives any other.
Missing the Philippines was probably a good thing.

Well I seen Pete in concert at a night club in Toronto and it was him on one kit and his younger brother on another if my memory serves right.

He seemed ok on drums..... he kept time.
I met him after the show, he signed a cd for me.
Pete, to me seemed like a class act all the way. He IS exactly how he is portrayed in books and film .. quiet and somewhat reserved...open enough to chat awhile though ......cheers Pete!
I go back so far... I'm in front of me!
