Actually, Mr Writer, profound is a horrible way to express what I was thinking.
Profound means many things: very great, strong, or intense;
showing great understanding: showing great perception, understanding, or knowledge; requiring great understanding: requiring great perception, understanding, or knowledge; extending to or situated at a great depth.
Perhaps your expression is much closer to what I wanted to say. Profound is commmonly misused and I stand corrected. And yes, sir. I do try and be polite.
