I think it's a bit anal to split a rating down to decimal points. You either like them or you don't. For me, every song on here gets a 10, no question.

I've always thought very strong of WALHFMF... One of the best songs ever written period.

It is a great album, but I think the sound on Revolver is better.

Revolver IMO is a better colection of songs from start to finish, but Pepper has a wholeness about it, like the songs belong to each other. All the tracks seem to share the same feeling of pushing boundaries and it feels like this was a special attempt to do something new and exciting. And agree with all the previous bass comments - the man was on the best bass form of his life, the playing is just genius. You sometimes forget what a great band they were.

When exactly do you (or does one) ever forget what a great band they were? They were the best ever and I, as a Macca and Beatles fan, will never forget that. Their musicianship, playing, recording, song writing et al was the best, "period" (as Americans always rather annoyingly say ad nausiam. Come on. Say something new.

I meant as a band, just 4 guys playing guitars. Sometimes beneath the great songs, stories and sonic experiments, the fact that they got so big was because they were the hardest rocking band in Liverpool gets forgotten for a second.
Beneath all the Pepper sounds and experiments was the tightest, most well-drilled BAND of all time. Just the four of them. Like, for example, both John and Ringo are highly underrated musicians.

Harrison called Lennon a "crummy guitarist". I disagree with that. Incidentally, PM did 99% of the guitar solos on Sgt. Pepper, including title track, Fixing and Getting Better. Harrison wasn't keen on Pepper because he didn't have a lot to do. He preffered RS and Revolver which he thought were like volume 1 and volume 2.
