I'm glad James is still around, but I miss the ol' hippy Sweet-Baby/Mud-Slide-James Taylor. Those 2 albums were dense with excellent original material.

I thought the song Copperline was a bit of the old James.

It has, got it recently i think, possibly on SACD-Hybrid with 5.1 surround, stereoSACDsound/normal CD audio.

James Taylor is one of my favourite artists.

i loved copperline. that was probably my favourite song of the album New Moon Shine.

Either that or the one that goes "oh lucy, say, god have mercy, i've gotta stop thinkin' 'bout that"

I like taylor's voice better than maccas, and it's still stayed wonderful after all these years(james')

And his voice is still wonderful as well.

I gotta say, James Taylor sends me to sleep. The only song I really dig is that cover of Everyday, maybe a couple of his early hits are ok. But I don't think I could tolerate him in heavy doses. It's just too...middle of the road.

like macca? macca in general is a little too average for me most of the time. In general i think taylor has released better albums.

No way - there is one important difference - Macca knows how to rock. Macca has so much variety on each album, so much diversity, a little handful could be classified as MOR, but another little handful could be rock and another one or two could be classified experimental or different, and then you get songs like You Gave Me The Answer / Honey Pie which are more like music hall. With James Taylor, you just get this laid-back dude gently strumming a feel-good guitar - it's downright boring. Thank f***ing god for Slipknot.
