Don't get too excited....I'm not leaving...I'm talking about the song.

Has anyone ever heard Paul sing this song? This would be a goody for him to resurrect.

Yep I got an mp3 of it during the Napster days - the full name of the file is Beatles - Goodbye (Demo From Original Acetate Disc) (Rare Mas.mp3 - not sure if you can still grab it off p2p proggies but it's obviously off a bootleg from somewhere.

Anyway, I'm happy to report that Paul's version is very true to Mary Hopkin's recording, much like how Paul's Come and Get It was faithfully-rendered by Badfinger. It's a very tightly-performed recording for a demo, and the acoustic guitar work is very good and the singing is Macca perfection - very upbeat / wistful! Charming, goofy and cool!
I needed comfort of love just to get me some piece of mind.. wo-oh

I got it with the help of a p2p software a few months ago, and what Kyle's said is exactly what I think about it as well, I find it a really nice demo and I tend to listen to it quite a lot.

oh good topic. This beautiful ballad who show his talents for high-vocal-harmony-songs, I love especially the last of the song where he sings "uhh". :D

What a shame the demo wasn't included on the "Beatles Anthology" set.

Have you found it. Guitar tabs? I think it´s easier just to listen to the song and play it instead of searching the tabs on the net.

But it's a bit easier to play it from a tab than trying to play it by ear.

But it´s more difficult to find the tabs on the net than figure out the chords  :)
