Personally, I found the sonics of 1 to be rather loathsome...overly processed and tweaked, better suited for $50 boom boxes rather than a serious sound system.

Well I just picked up 'One' the other day for a cheap special price, and what did I do? Ripped them to 192kbs mp3z of course, for easy listening thru my computer, which is my stereo these days (I haven't owned a "serious sound system" for some 5 years now since the advent of mp3).

Soundwise, I have no complaints, they still sound like the same songs to me. Nice to have all these memories together on one cd (oops I should say, in one folder).

It's just one more Beatle compilation people can say BUT the difference is on the remasterized sound and the excellent booklet as was mentioned already plus the Andy Warhol's cover artwork...one more awesome album to any Beatle collector.

Normally I don´t like greatest hits. Like the blue and the red. But 1 is an important album in the collection..

rip them to 320kba mp3z... they'll sound better... oh, and get some good headphones... trust me...

320 is unnecessary, and a waste of compression. If you want high bitrate and 192 isn't enough for you, use VBR and EAC with Lame.

A great album. Haven´t bought it myself, because I have all the songs.

It is a good start for young people to get into The Beatles.

Guess in 10 years time another "greatest hits-album will see the light.

Have had all the Beatles albums (incl. Past Masters) for donkey's years so didn't see point of buying this. But, is it worth getting for the remastering alone?

I'd say yes.....just like Yellow Submarine....the sound is amazing.
