The last album was really appropriate to end a very illustrious career. I recall in one of their interviews that it was a complete turnaround from the Let It Be sessions. Got to listen again to Her Majesty.

so, we can discuss (and we do) about Spector's work on Let it be album, and we all know that women choir on TLAWR was put without Maccas permission.

But we can't say anything wrong about his work on Lennon's Plastic Ono Band album 1970, i think, the best album John has made. Imagine sounds more commercial, but POB is pretty clear and honest.

I agree YB, POB is very John, the songs came from his inside...
He was on Primal Scream therapy of doc Janov, and he showed that on the album, a very raw and naked John´s self-portrait, finally, really a masterpiece.

You're right, POB is pretty basic. But on All Things Must Pass, he releases the great Wall Of Sound Fury in all his might. Why did he do that with George and The Beatles and not with John?

Well, Spector did have some pretty lush arrangements on the Imagine album. For POB, John probably just told him that he wanted it pretty basic and stripped down.
