Does anybody know who the drummer was before Pete Best, can´t remember. I´m also interessted to know who was in the quarry man before George came in. :arrow:

i think in anthology paul (or george?) said that they hadn't a drummer and that they always had said that the guitars made the rythm.
there are many bell-factories in belfast!

they had some drummers, sometimes even paul, but hte others only for a couple of gigs

They must have had another one that Paul. He couldn´t play both guitar and drums till the concerts that time :)

I don't remember seeing this thread. Depends on what you mean by "before Pete Best". Do you mean the Quarrymen? In that case, it was Colin Hanton.

Thanks Ram! Pete Best joined the group in 1960 when the was called Silver beatles, right? And there before it was Colin Hanton, when the was Quarry man, Johnnny and moondogs and so on? :? :)

As far as I know, Colin Hanton played the drums up until 1959. I can't recall whether there was somebody else between him and Pete Best. Anybody else know?

Erm....not exactly.
I ask because I remember they played a talentshow in 1959 when they was Johnny and the moondogs, and I just wondering who the drummer was then, but it must have been Colin.
