Call me a worshipful twit, then a twit I be, but in my mind, I could never assign a number rating to most Beatle albums. Non-Beatles, yes, Beatles, no. Certainly not this one (or the US semi-equivalent, Meet The Beatles).
When it was released, there was nothing else out there that could even touch it. Others came along soon after, but WTB/MTB was a groundbreaker. It's remarkable when an album stands the test of time, but IMO, the preferred insight into an album is understood in the context of its times.
