What songs are you really good at singing?

I can hear perfectly. I can sing OK, but I cant hit the high ones...not one bit. Songs like Ill be Back are perfect for me. I would say Im average for an amatuer, whihc means I'm terrible vs professionals, lol.

I suppose I don't do too bad at singing though my range has shrunk a bit. Among the Beatles songs I'm really most comfortable with the John parts as well - I love singing along to "Ticket to Ride" or "All You Need Is Love" for instance - among his solo songs "Imagine" and "Jealous Guy" are my favourites. I do admire those who can sing George's songs well - some of them I find really hard to sing along to, both melody and rhythm wise. I thought it really interesting how Macca "straightened out" a bit the complicated and irregular rhythm pattern of "Something" when he performed it.

Yep. I can.. We do those songs with my band.. But you have to be in top form to really get "Oh darling" right..

cool. Do you only play beatles or paul songs with your band?

I can do pretty well all Paul's harmonies and lead vocals, George's harmonies are challenging as they were usually a bit lower. Being so used to singing Paul's part it takes a few listens to get in a George frame of mind

It´s also great in "She loves you" when George sing the sexth note as the last Yeah.

Mind you, I'm probably going to drop HJ - because I never have a very enthusiastic audience for singing along! Actually, I got LIB just right for the first time when I last performed. Previously, when playing it, it never quite sounded right. I guess I was treating the song with too much reverence, I dunno. But I nailed it last time.

As for MIA, well, I sing it an octave lower. That way the high notes are easy!

Things We Said Today is a fave of mine because I do it so differently. I do a jazz-style piano version as opposed to the guitar pop-ballad of the original. Still slow, though.

Other favourites of mine for live performing are:

Every Breath You Take - The Police (a bitch to play but well worth it!)
I'm Still Standing - Elton John (possible my favourite to do live)
And a few others as well, but these two really do stand out.
