isn't it the album, with the #1 songs from the red and the blue album?
does it have a good booklet, so it's worth buying it?

Not from the red and Blue, but rather from their entire collection, really. And the booklet it GREAT as it has pics of single sleeves from all over the world. But the sound is what caught me offguard...amazing.

the sound is great ...but it's been cleaned up a lot; the songs do not sound the same as their album counterparts. When I heard it for the first time a while back, I couldn't help but notice the differences. It's not as bad as wingspan though (in that department anyways).

nice booklet

I agree, I did just a cursory listen to a friend of mine's "1" CD and could tell a difference immediately. I might have to break my own rule of refusing to buy compilations and get this one! That booklet is also very cool. 8)

Correct, if you count Past Masters V I & II...but the sound is worth it alone...

Here is the list:

Love Me Do
From Me To You
She Loves You
I Want to Hold Your Hand
Can't Buy Me Love
A hard Day's Night
I feel Fine
8 Days a Week
Ticket to Ride
Help!
Yesterday
Day Tripper
We Can Work It Out
Paperback Writer
Yellow Submarine
Eleanor Rigby
Penny Lane
All You Need is Love
Hello Goodbye
Lady Madonna
Hey Jude
Get back
The Ballad of John and Yoko
Something
Come Together
Let It Be
The Long and Winding Road

The inner notes from George Martin include:

"This collection of number ones is taken from the most widely circulated charts in the UK (Record retailer) and the USA (Billboard)."

So remember.....it has only SINGLE releases that hit number ONE. No album tracks (which leaves out Pepper, for instance)....
