Favourite Beatles Photo Sessions

Postby jet » Thu Jul 18, 2002 4:59 pm

The thread 'Rate the beatles album covers' started me thinking about the many photo sessions The Beatles did over the years, and got me wondering what ones are other peoples favourites. Mine is the 'Mad Day Out' session on July 28 1968 during recording of the 'White Album'. I particularly think John comes over really well in these photos, especially the ones taken in the 'glass house' in Pauls garden.

I believe those are the photos in the Anthology book where John wrote: "pretending to be Beatles, all waiting stoned for it to be over". Guess he hated those sessions.

I myself like the very last photo shoot, where they stand in the long grass.

Didn't Linda take those photos? My favorite Paul photo is the one where he's giving baby Mary a bath in front of the fireplace.

Yeah, Brains. I like that last session in the tall grass too. But it makes me kinda sad, because you know it's their last one. Shine--I'm not sure I've seen the picture of Paul giving Mary a bath that you mentioned. Sounds like a pretty cool one.

You know, I just realized something. Mary's name is 'Mary Macca Macca'. (Mary McCartney McDonald.) Surprised I never noticed that.

ever see the one where they are holding baby doll parts and there is raw meat hanging off them? I think it's around '65 or so. I'm not sure I get that one.
