My favourite Macca interview is one which he did for a UK TV show called The South Bank Show towards the end of 1977 (I saw a recording of it about 8 years ago). Because of the nature of the TV show concerned (it's a show dedicated to the 'arts') Macca was actually asked questions similar to the ones I have already mentioned, particularly songwriting. I would love to obtain a copy of this show sometime in the future. Having said that, it would be nice to hear/see him do a similar interview these days, mainly to see if his views have changed over the past 25 years.
Has it been going for that long, eh, The South Bank Show? I recently saw the one about Bernie Taupin - fascinating.
