George´s Grammy and other solo Beatle Grammies

Postby Berkeleyan » Wed Feb 18, 2004 4:12 pm

So George was awarded a Grammy for best pop instrumental (Marswa Blues). I think that Paul got his Grammy for best rock instrumental w/ Rockestra theme. He also got one for Band on the Run (best engineered recording) - well actually the engineers got it.
John got his Grammy for best album (Double Fantasy).

Are there any other grammies for solo Beatles that I forgot to mention ?

I think paul got a grammy for Uncle Albert/Admiral halsey (or it was nominated).

oh yeah, and the back to back to back lifetime achievent awards for Paul, John and George. (but I guess that doesn't really count.) I'm sure there are others

I guess so. Hopefully someone will step in and clarify matters...
Or better yet, list all grammy awards by the Beatles (as a group and solo) [:)]

Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey is right, for best instrumentation or what the heck it's called.
The Beatles got Album Of The Year for Stg Peppers in '68.
George got Album Of The Year for The Concert For Bangladesh in '73.
John got Album Of The Year for Double Fantasy in '81.
The Beatles got Best New Artist in '65.
The Beatles got Best Pop Duo Or Group Vocal Performance for A Hard Day's Night in '65.
Paul & Wings got Best Pop Duo Or Group Vocal Vocal Performance for BOTR in '74.
The Beatles got Best Pop Duo Or Group Vocal Vocal Performance for Free As A bird in '97.
Travelling Wilburys got Best Rock Duo Or Group Vocal Performance for Traveling Wilburys Volume One in '90.
Paul & Wings got Best Rock Instrumental for Rockestra in '80.
The Beatles got Best Music Video both Short & Long Form for Free As A bird in '97.
And of course George's Best Pop Instrumental for Marwa Blues.
Phew, that's it.[;)] All info from http://www.rockonthenet.com
And sorry for the surely zillion typing mistakes.

I think they've got some Grammys in other categories not listed on RockOnTheNet, so the list may be longer. Paul's got 13 Grammys altogether, and I only listed about 8 which are for him. BTW George's got 11, but I couldn't find John's and Ringo's.
