The Battle of the Silly Songs!!!

Please don't all laugh at once, but of all his silly songs, the silliest (and my favourite) has to be Mary Had A Little Lamb (stop laughing at the back!). Okay it may be based on an old nursery rhyme but I love the tune, especially the wordless chorus and particularly the riff that comes between the end of the chorus and the verses. And isn't that someone giggling towards the end of the first chorus?!

Thanx for the support Ram1. Maybe it's time for all the closet Mary Had A Little Lamb fans (or supporters of any silly macca song for that matter) to come out of the shadows at long last! Forget what all the critics say - there's nothing to be ashamed of in liking this side of Maccas work.

Bluebird, Here There and Everywhere, Here Today, all great "silly" love songs.

I don't know if I'd really call any of those "silly" in this context, (except for maybe Bluebird.) Especially 'Here Today', which I think is actually pretty somber. All great songs though.
