The name of this collection makes me ill---it DOES remind me of Yoko for some reason, lol.

The album cover is impressive. I wonder if it's Klaus Voorman who did it.

Yeah, the cover art looks like a Voormann original.
Does anyone know ?
Regarding the title - what does "Shaved Fish" mean - seriously !

According to the album´s backcover credits, a certain Michael Bryan(unknown guy at least to me)was the illustrator and the art direction and designer was Roy Kohara, that worked to John in previous albums.
As for the title, I think that´s because he chose only his real hits and "shaved" all of his works´s "scales" and instead of calling that as "the greatest of...", "greatest hits" or "best of..." he wanted to be creative...and I think that was a good idea. That was one more John´s originality(well, I don´t know if that really was HIS idea, but probably that was so...).

Peace.

Oh, you're welcome my friend!! You know a thing, man?? That album made me remind the military dictatorship in our country in the 70s, do you know the reason?? Hahaha that's because my album came with a SEAL covering the naked woman on the "Woman Is The Nigger..."'s illustration, don't you remmember the moral censorship of that period?? A thing only to laugh, that just was so ridiculous!![:D] I think you do remmember that our dark age, don't you, Berk?? Were you living here that time?? Just to remind you: BRAZIL...LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT...[:D][:D][:D]

Peace.

Yes, I was in Brazil during the seventies - I was just a kid but I was somewhat aware of the ways of our "beloved" dictatorship.
Yes, I recall that phrase ! I think it was really good propaganda! Well done ![:D]

And the album´s great cover work - so they put a sticker on the offending bits.... [:D]

Yes, and there was something printed in that sticker, I can't remmember what, because I tried to pull it out for curiosity(I was 13, you know[:D])and spoiled a little bit the cover.[:D]

Peace.

Yeah, 13 year-olds are always so curious, specially about female anatomy - what a course to take, instead of Portuguese for instance ![}:)][:D]
