Picked it up today...and yes the sound is fantastic....but I don't think LIB..N will attract any new fans. Listening to McCartney though, I have to wonder if this guy was the most underrated Vocalist in Rock& Roll....man this guy could sing!(and still can)[:)]

Gastro Boy: (noun)-- one who sucks gas out of young boys, i.e. Michael Jackson.

Ram1: (verb) -- the act of copulation between humans and sheep as is practiced by farmers in New Zealand. eg I saw Steve Dweeeb doing the Ram1 by the side of the road with Warnie's flock

To Gastro Boy:

"LAWR is a schlock song as much as Good Night was"

Too bad some people can´t understand good songwriting [;)]

"Does Across the Universe belong on this CD"?

Yes it does, since they rehersed the song during the sessions.

"What about I Me Mine? They kept the Spector edit but took out the Spectorisations.. isn't this similar to A3?"

No, the A3 version is the original unedited version

"What about Don't Let Me Down? If this is the rooftop version John does flub the lyrics"

Apparently you didn´t know that they did two takes of this song on the roof gig. on LIBN they simply edited the two versions together to make a version without flubbed lyrics.

"There's alot of editing on this so it's not as Naked as the hype surrounding this suggests. I know there is an electric version of Two of us which would have been a treat"

Yes there I agree with you. The electric verion of TOU is really great and should have been included. And it´s true that LIBN isn´t as "real" as they want us to believe but so what? It´s a great remix, a great band, a good album made excellent. It´s the bloody Beatles LIBN album, shut up.. [;)]

Just kidding.. you all know what i mean by that..

Great point..it is NOT for the casual fan..they wouldn't even notice the differences....and yes....what a wonderful thing the 26 year old voice of Macca was...amazing. And LAWR just brings that out in lving color. The old version always sounded muffled to me..this one is so damn beautiful, it's amazing.

I have to admit, I like the old version of LAWR better...Macca's vocals in that one made the song...he actually sounds like he going to loose it emotionally on the original...you can hear the warble in his voice. He makes the reference of wanting to sing it like Ray Charles would have...and the original is.
I also like Don't Let Me Down better on the original(yeah I know it wasn't on the album)..for no other reason than Billy Preston's solo at the end is much better...but I'm happy to have any new versions of songs, so maybe I should shut up now?[:p]

AND....when the heck at The Beatles going to remaster their whole cataloge? Jeesh! LIB...N and Yellow Submarine sound fantastic! Come on people..I'm not getting any younger![xx(][;)]
