George's "material" love songs

I enjoyed your exposition imensely. I just would like to add a little something I read in the Beatles Anthology. There´s a little event when George and Ringo were having dinner with Patty and Maureen, early seventies. Apparently George was upset about something (his marriage to Patty on the rocks, most probably) and half-drunk started saying things like " I love Maureen" and making a pass at her and stuff like that. Maureen was numb, Patty was in tears and Big-hearted, wise Ringo let it pass.

Yes, Berk and I do believe this version, the drunk-George saying such restricting words shocking his wife and his close couple of friends. I can imagine the embarassing scene...Ringo really was his great friend...
