Badfinger Paul's contribution

Well most know of the story behind "Come and Get It" but for those who don't. Paul was waiting for the other 3 to get into the studio and I guess he got impatient so he had this tune to lay down and in 20 minutes recorded it. Drums, bass, piano, guitar, vocals and gave it to Badfinger who where in the studio at the time.

Said something like, this is a hit if do it exactly like this. So with Paul producing, the did do an almost exact version of it and it did become a hit which led onto it and the album it was on to be the soundtrack of Ringo's movie of the same name, "Magic Christian".

I was so glad that they included that fine track on Anthology 3. Love that song!!

I actually prefer Macca's demo to the Badfinger version.

At the time, I loved the BF version....thought it very macca-like and it was heavily broadcast to be "produced and written by PM", and it was on Apple etc etc. But when I heard Paul's version, I fell in love with that one, and now prefer it over the orig. I'm with ya, MTM.

Well I think you are just a little biased in your selection people. [:)]The 2 versions are nearly identical..so choosing between them is silly really.[:p] But then I like Badfinger's version better![;)]

I just like macca's vocals on the track better. The rest sounds the same. As macca told them, "follow this to a tee,a nd you'll have a hit"..and so it was. [:D]
