Those Were The Days

Postby dsnito » Thu May 22, 2003 9:38 pm

Yeah..."Those Were The Days, My Friend..." good old days indeed...
That was 1968 when Paul wrote and produced that instant hit by Mary Hopkin, a cute blonde girl that made that song unforgettable to me...
I miss those good old days...

Peace.

Macca didnt' write that one (Gene Raskin did), though he brought the idea of doing the Russian-type folk song to Mary. He then didn't have any others like it in mind, so he wrote one, "goodbye", which Mary then recorded as the followup to TWTD. After "Goodbye", Macca didnt work with her again.

Yeah you´re right Steve, as EVER...LOL[:D]
I forgot that detail, the author really was Raskin and Macca just changed the melody for Russian folk style, but anyway the song is MEMORABLE, isn´t it Steve??[;)]

I thought the whole Postcard album was great, a lot of range and great production. And true, dsnito, she was a cutie.
