LENNON (the 1990 4 cd box set)

Postby DylansMrJones » Sat Apr 05, 2003 3:11 pm

Lucky me. I found this at my local used shop for only $25. As far as I know it's no longer in print. I think it's a pretty good retrospective of his solo career. I must say, however, this set has a crappy booklet with photos, lyrics, publishing credits - BUT no liner notes, recording dates or musician credits. I guess you have to IMAGINE them!!!

Years ago a friend of mine bought this, and on the outer box the title IMAGINE was missing from the track list. Where the word IMAGINE should have been was a blank space. Every other one I've seen doesn't have this "error". I wonder if it's rare and valuable or just interesting?

I used to own that box set. It was very, very hastily put together I think. Lyrics are cool, but the packaging left much to be desired.

Now that the regular albums are being remastered, I'm starting to buy those instead. I sold the box set a while back. Who knows, maybe you got my copy! [;)]

Got it. I like it very much. Some great mixes and takes on the songs.

Same here...don't drag it out much and when I do, it's usually the Dakota disc...the Cheap Trick (kinda) version of "I'm Losing You" rocks!

I think you're thinking of the Lennon Anthology!
