What Beatles "solo" CDs do you have?

Postby DylansMrJones » Tue Feb 25, 2003 9:51 am

I finally completed my Beatles CD collection, with the exception of the 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 albums. Now I can start concentrating on their solo careers. Here's what I have:

GEORGE
All Things Must Pass (2000)
Cloud 9
Live In Japan
Brainwashed
Traveling Wilburys Vol 1
Traveling Wilburys Vol 3
JOHN
Live In New York City
The John Lennon Collection
John Lennon Anthology
PAUL
McCartney
Ram
Wild Life
Red Rose Speedway
Band On The Run (25th anniversary)
Venus And Mars
Wings Over America
Tripping The Live Fantastic
Off The Ground The Complete Works
Unplugged
Paul Is Live
Flaming Pie
The World Tonight (cd single)
Run Devil Run
Wingspan
Driving Rain
Back In The US
RINGO
Ringo

So, what 10 Beatles SOLO cds do you think I should get next?

3 Macca must-haves not on your list.....

Flowers in the Dirt
Tug of War
Back to the Egg

Then follow with London Town and At the Speed of Sound....

But I'm very partial to Paul. [:D]

Definitely. Those 3 are definitely must-haves. Especially Tug of War. But the other two are pretty much just as important.

I hope I don't steer you too wrong...great musical moments on these...

GEORGE (..if you can find them. They should be re-released & hopefully remastered in the future.)
George Harrison ('79)
Gone Troppo
33 1/3
Living In The Material World

JOHN
(You've already got the very best of his output with the compilations, so what to get next is for the few goodies left that got missed.)
Mind Games (love Intuition)
Walls And Bridges (I dig Beef Jerky)

PAUL
London Town
Back To The Egg
Flowers In The Dirt

RINGO
Good Night Vienna ( a little dated, but you have the one before this. Two from the 90s, Time Takes Time and Vertical Man got some good reviews. I've only heard Weight Of The World off Time Takes Time and I really like it, I have the CD single. I'll get these CDs one of these days. )

I think we're unanimous so far with Flowers In The Dirt.

I would suggest London Town and the genuine Unplugged.[8D]

I have most of their solo career albums... I just don't have a few of'em yet, hmm...let me see...
Paul's: "Choba B CCCP" and his classical works(I just listened to a friend's CDs).
John's: "Two Virgins"(I NEVER've been curious[:D]),"Live Peace In Toronto" and "Unfinished Music 1 and 2"(same on "TV", I can't stand Yoko-san's whispers, gaspings and squeals...LOL[:D]).
George's:"The Best Of Dark Horse"(just have the unedited songs on cassete like "Poor Little Girl","Cheer Down" and one that I can't remmember the title)and "Live In Japan"... I have Wilburys 1 but not the 2, though I don't consider those as George's albums but as his collaboration to a temporary formed stars group(AWESOME group, have to say).
Ringo's:"Beaucoups Of Blues" C&W that I'll get someday yet, "Bad Boy"(on a lost cassete, but I don't miss that), "Storytellers" and his All Starr Band tours(I don't have on CD but on DVD).

Peace.

Ringo's Sentimental Journey and Beaucoups of Blues: Maybe for obscure tastes, but I like 'em. BOB is really a good C/W song, though as a whole the album might reek of mediocrity. Still, I like to hear it all once in a big while.

Great standards and well-produced on Sentimental Journey. Ringo's really funny at the end of Blue, Turning Grey Over You.

Both only for the jaded, most likely, LOL. [:D]
