He bought the left-handed Violin Bass 500-1 for £36, a huge sum for a guitar in 1961, before The Beatles' first hit. He used it at all their gigs and studio sessions. Odd...He says himself that it was a converted RIGHT handed bass, and that he didn't use it at ALL the studio sessions.

You know, that story seems rather bogus to me. Paul makes many trips to NYC. He could very easily had John takes it to those specialists on any visit and all that stuff about chartering a special jet is just silly IMHO. Paul is too Northern to do that. I don't believe it.

That makes most of that story bogus. I was wondering the same thing.

It makes me itchy and i get hives. I wonder is the Ramster can wear the wool. Funny, though....I can wear a wool jacket, no problem, as long as it doesn't touch my skin all day. If the sweater or pants are wool, and athey are touching my skin directly, look out. I'll quit this talk, Auj. I sure it's making you hot, LOL!!!! J/K...

You might want to throw up now!!!

Paul spent c£100k refurbing the 1962 (?) Hofner bass so that it would stand up to continued use / abuse and would hold tuning better. I believe the refurb was done in the late 80s - between FITD and the '89 tour.
