It doesn't add value, I agree. But does that fifth tree on the left behind the Beatles on the AR cover add any value? No, and there's no need to remove that. Just leave the legendary cover as it is, don't be too politically correct over a cigarette.

Paul's cigarette removed from Abbey Road cover.

This would be just stupid. Why don't they put Paul's sandals back on his feet as well?

This political correctness thing has gotten out of hand to rediculous proportions.

If this comes into fruition it won't be the first time Paul's had his ciggy airbrushed away. I seem to recall the original US Capitol Records picture sleeve of I WANT TO HOLD YOUR HAND b/w I SAW HER STANDING THERE had Paul holding a cigarette in the photo. When they reissued the single on its' 20th anniversary in 1984, they reproduced the original orange & yellow swirl Capitol label as well as the picture sleeve. Only they airbrushed Paul's cigarette out of the picture. And now that I look at the booklet of the "1" cd, I notice Paul's cigarette missing on that photo again!

Stupid...

I wonder if this means they'll eventually airbrush the ciggie from Pauls' mouth on the back of the Rubber Soul album? It makes you wonder what they'll do next doesn't it?

While we are all in an airbrush rampage, why don't we just airbrush Yoko Ono's tits in the Two Virgins album or better, in all of John's albums? [:D]
