The Ultimate John lennon setlist

Postby Thomas » Sat Jan 18, 2003 6:38 am

Wich songs would John have played if he toured in the early 80´s??
(if he wasn´t murdered of course)

This would make a nice setlist I think:

1. Strawberry Fields
2. Instant Karma
3. Help!
4. Woman
5. Beautifull Boy
6. A Hard Day´s Night
7. Nowhere Man
8. Lucy
9. Cold Turky
10. Come Together
11. Jealous Guy
12. Move Over Miss L
13. Revolution
14. Just Like Starting Over
15. Yer Blues
16. Julia
17. Whatever Gets you thru the night
18. Girl
19. Day Tripper
20. Give Peace A chance
------------------------------------------
21. I am the Walrus
22. Twist and Shout
23. Imagine
24. All you need is Love

That's a good list Thomas, there are some things I should add. John said that when they were planning a tour after Double Fantasy that it was going to include Yoko.[:(] Most likely as in the past concerts she sang with John's band.[:(] This means that we have to delete some of John's numbers and figure on about 1/3 of the setlist comprised of Yoko's songs.[xx(]Also you have to take into account what songs John would play keys, electric or acoustic guitar on. This might affect the running order of the songs. ex. he might play guitar on Strawberry Fields, then piano on Instant Karma, then have to change back to guitar and maybe even acoustic guitar on Help. You have to group the piano, the guitar songs together somewhat

There's not enough Double Fantasy too.

OK, here's my take on a good Lennon concert. So we're assuming here that this is in a world where he didn't get shot, and also let's say that he managed to finish the Milk & Honey work as well. And say he divorced Yoko for good measure [;)]

1. Come Together
2. I'm Stepping Out
3. (Just Like) Starting Over
4. Mind Games
5. Day Tripper
6. God (The Dream Is Over)
7. Cold Turkey
8. I Don't Wanna Be A Soldier Mama
9. #9 Dream

Acoustic set
10. Across The Universe
11. Working Class Hero
12. Borrowed Time
13. Dear Prudence
14. Beautiful Boy
15. Watching The Wheels
16. Julia

17. A Hard Day's Night
18. Don't Let Me Down
19. Instant Karma!
20. Nobody Told Me
21. Jealous Guy
22. Woman
23. In My Life
24. Nowhere Man
25. Whatever Gets You Thru The Night
26. Imagine
27. All You Need Is Love

Encore:

28. Revolution
29. I Am The Walrus
30. Strawberry Fields Forever

Howzat?

John Lennon set list on all of those variations would have been very good. I would like to have seen him live because it would have been good for him to stay productive. He would have done a lot of rock n roll songs from the 50's i think

When we're all dead, we'll have a word with Nigel and see what can be arranged.

Then I would like to have Keith Moon on drums, Phil Lynot on bass, Jimi H on guitar and Freddie Mercury on piano and more vocals. The opening act will be Elvis Pressley [:D]

Freddie, Lennon and Moony are certainly in my pick of deceased greats. Not sure who I'd want on bass - the only dead bass player I know is John Entwistle, and I can't have him 'cos I've already picked Moony for my drummer. Could do with another guitarist, and I can't have George, and I'm not a huge Hendrix fan . . .
