Pauls Coat of Arms

Postby 40Intrepid » Mon Dec 23, 2002 8:10 pm

This was in the Detroit News this morning; Paul now has a Coat of Arms wich pays homage to his music and home city of Liverpool.
The crest features a
liver, a fanciful bird that appears in Liverpools Arms, holding a guitar in its claw, four curved embelms resembling beetles backs to reflect the Beatles, And the motto is "Ecce Cor Meum" latin for "Behold My Heart", the title of an oratorio he composed.

It really bugs me when people compare John and Paul as if John were still alive! Let's give the man some credit - he died in 1980 and the world was a much, much different place back then, I think we can all agree. I personally believe his views might have mellowed, if not changed by now, some 22 years later.

When the Beatles existed, Paul was the man-about-London, experimenting and dabbling while John sat in the 'burbs with wife and kid. But people don't like to remember that. It's easier to label Paul the pleaser, as conservative and big-mouth John as the iconoclast when, in fact, they each had a bit of both in their personalities. Paul is still here and deserves all the credit he gets. Who knows - if John had lived, I bet he'd be knighted too!

I don't think John would have been knighted, Shinestar, after returning his MBE. Perhaps the powers that be may have taken that as a slap in the face.
As far as the coat of arms, I'm sad that Paul had to pay for it. As an artist, I could have done a much better job and for FREE!
In fact Paul could have done a much better job.
In fact, any three year old could have done better.
Paul deserves better.
(I wonder if Yoko will try and pay for one now.[xx(])

I agree. Not to mention that John chose to live in NYC and would have probably stayed there.

What I was trying to say was I think John may have changed his mind re the MBE, etc.

Also, it sounds to me from reading Mike's News page, that Paul designed his own coat of arms. They said he started it but it was delayed by Linda's illness and subsequent death.

No wonder it came out like that.
he should have done one of his mega colour abstacts then.
Perhaps another Yellow Linda or something.
It's dull and boring.
When's Yoko's due out?[}:)]
