If the Sons of the Beatle form a Band . . .

This was brought up in a mail-list:
What if Julian Lennon, James McCartney, Dhani Harrison and Zak Starkey got together to form a band ?

To us fans that would be a real neat thing but unlikely. Kids of celebrities try their whole lives to get their own identity. Julian and Zak have come out publicly for very many years but both James and Dhani have kept their private lives just that, private. No public life so to speak so it would be a great big step for them both. I would be 1st in line for that CD, concert for sure.

As for a name for this dream band, how about SUNBEAT, SONBEAT or REPEAT, REBEAT

Yeah, Mike. I actually brought this up a while back too. You're right, it would probably never happen. But man, would it ever be AWESOME if it did!! I'm sure this possibility has passed through their minds before too, if only briefly. I'd be first in line as well, Mike. I like SUNBEAT.

I like Lennon, McCartney, Harrison & Starr. Ala CSN & Y. Julian is a MAJOR talent and Zak is a very nice drummer. James I have heard and I know nothing of Dhani yet. Soon for him after I get BW. What about Sean? His singing at the Lennon Tribute in late 2001 of "This Boy" was awesome (he did John's solo vocal). Chilling.

I hope they are happy more than anything too. But it would still be AWESOME if they got together. The music they'd produce would be phenomenal.

I think forming a "sons of The Beatles" type band would be a mistake. The pressure of constantly being compared to their famous fathers would strip them of their individualities. I'd rather hear them approaching music their own way and not in the shadow of the Beatles. It is a fun thing to wonder about though. And just maybe this would be cool if the sons of the Beatles recorded one song together...

That's probably the biggest reason they would not want to do this. The expectation level would make the project for them unenjoyable.
