Actually, I think it's true. I just read something about it like last week actually. From what I remember reading, it wasn't copied word for word, but Paul got the inspiration from it and modeled 'Golden Slumbers' after it. Can't remember the poem though. Looks like research time.

An old nursery rhyme or something like that, I believe. I think it qualifies as being "out of copyright" by 1969, though! So he put music to it, et voila!

Nah, you're thinking of Shakespeare.

Hello all,

Good to be back. I'll have to read some of the old forums here. Glad to see everything in these forums haven't changed. Getting to topic, Paul has always admitted Golden Slumbers is from a 1500 or 1600 nursery rhyme. I think he was reading to his step-sister Ruth or something.

Anyway, he's always said he pinched it himself.

Funny, how old Jim Mac (Paul's dad) and now Paul are both about to get re-married at the age of 60. Paul is just a tad younger lookin' than his pops. Huh?

There's been a lot of worry about your temporary disappearance, Chris! Everyone was saying you'd been got at . . .

Paul and his dad are both *getting* remarried at the age of 60? Blimey, his dad must have been a quick starter . . .

I was not suggesting that Shakespeare (whichever one) had written Golden Slumbers; I was merely referring to the fact that Shakespeare's plays have been attributed to Bacon. Personally, I'd rather attribute them to sausages
