Yes Wings, it did well, but it did have alot of overshipment that created some very false numbers. It's still a great album. In my top 5 Macca, for sure. FP the song would rock live...even better than it did on OPRAH , LOL. By the way..I wasn't aware the Paul was doing Orwell readings...LOL. I know..you MEANT 1985.[:D]

I thought Paul was great on Oprah, EXCEPT for those stupid video screens in the back of him while he was performing, showing him playing the different instruments. I thought that just made him look LAME.

Flaming Pie is great. Shows Paul still has it. Didn't it do good on the charts, Like #2? I know it was nominated for best album wasn't it?
Love the song Flaming Pie. Would have loved to see Paul do that or 1984 in concert instaed of doing the funny version of You Never Give Me Your Money. But anyway yes Paul did tone down the ELO sound.

I can't think of a single track on FP that is really weak - a distinction held also by BOTR, FITD and TOW.

As for the high points, well, there's Somedays and Beautiful Night - some amazing lyrics and melodies, two of my favourite Macca-tunes!

Relatively speaking, against the quality of the others, OK. But in general, as a song, it's not all that bad. It's just nothing special.

Can't stand it. The rest of the album though, superb.

For a while, I didn't particularly care for a few, notably "If You Wanna" and "Calico Skies", but everything on the album has so grown on me!

Beautiful Night is still my favorite. What a quality song. An epic. I'm also in love with Great Day. Simple little ditty, but just a great melody. Fun to sing and play on my guitar as well.

I've recently downloaded a few sets of chords from here, including Beautiful Night and Somedays, also Here Today, Wanderlust and a number from Driving Rain (LR, FALTAF, Magic, I Do). Not got very far as yet though . . . besides, I've got to focus on practising the ones I'm gonna do for the concert!

Yeah, I learned Lonely Road. Very fun to play. Except I practically lose my voice at the end, trying to imitate Paul's vocals. LOL
