But we wouldn't have known what we were missing... Would we be such huge fans of another artist/band? I don't think I would. There's no band that even comes close to being as eternally interesting as The Beatles for me.

Interesting point, Brains!

Moreover, if The Beatles hadn't happened, just think who else wouldn't have happened!

Well..we wouldn't be here on this forum, thats for sure. I also shudder to think of the direction popular music might have taken without them. Would we have had the lost tapes of Frankie Avalon to look forward to? LOL.

LMAO. Yeah, right! Frankie Avalon.
Actually, I remember being 11 and the teenager down the street from me taught me how to do the Locomotion (Little Eva), so that wasn't that bad. I remember being on the school bus Feb. 9 and there was a group of girls very excited behind me and I turned around in my seat and they were looking at a magazine with photos of the Beatles. First time I had ever heard of them. I thought, look at their hair! Amazing. In the summer I saw AHDN in the theatre down the street and I was hooked on that Lennon for the rest of my life.[:)]

Possibly, without the Beatles, we could be discussing now the Anthology CD of Engelbert Humperdink. [:D]

Oh no! Pleeeeease no!!!!

This is the guy who prevented Strawberry Fields Forever/Penny Lane from reaching number 1 here in the UK. It doesn't bear thinking about!

Well, don't be sad, guys. Without The Beatles, there would be no Strawberry Fields / Penny Lane to be prevented from reaching No. 1. It could have been a back to back hits from Engelbert, Please Release Me at no. 1 and Green Green Grass of Home at no. 2.

Please release me let me go...[:D]
