I've seen Paul live just 3 times (2002, 2010 and 2012) always with his current band so, this is the band I preffer. They're so charismatic and have great connection with the public and, of course, they're very good musicians. My favourites are Rusty and Abe.

This video is from the show at the Aztec Stadium, May 8th 2012. I love Abe's dancing:

nice vid, eggman1979. Abe is a ham, but an endearing one!

I've been bored with Paul's current lineup since his after his Choas & Creation album in 2006.

Definitely -

Denny Seiwell on drums (read extensive interviews with Paul and Denny recently on how he was chosen by Paul back in early 70s. Loves his work. Abe is too big and too distracting. Plus I don't like the sterility of DW Drums.

Hamish. Because of the great voice and stage presence.

Jimmy McCulloch. Talent beyound his years.

Denny Laine - legend and big talent in so many ways.

Linda on keyboards. Who else?

I know this lineup may overlap a bit but who cares? :)

ef gets it right. the new band...with the possible exception of mcculloch...is the shizz.

while i respect Robbie mccintosh...he doesn't belong on the list. a distant 4th for lead.

Chris, McIntosh is better than every one of those guitarests save, perhaps, Laurence Juber. At least technically.

And, if you've ever heard the vast array of soundchecks on YOUTUBE (some of which I've posted here), most of those are from the McIntosh/Hamish era, with McIntosh taking the lead guitar for the most part. And those guitar moments are sublime.

I caught him on a Norah Jones tour about ten years ago, and he was supurb, playing a totally different style of guitar (much more like the way he played on UNPLUGGED, in fact). The guy is very versatile. But, as the soundchecks show, he can rock out with the best of them, as well.

Couldn't disagree with you more!

Matts, I respect your opinion. I just disagree with it. I've seen him in concert more than a few times...including with the Pretenders...and he just didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he's bad...just serviceable.
