I think they're done. There is absolutely no demand for these old albums except for the hard core fans like us.

I really hope you're wrong, but fear you might be right!

Thread on Hoffman is suggesting that it's going to be VAM and (surprisingly) RRS in June

I hope you're right!

V&M is a dead cert for next release I think, if it's accompanied by another album at the same time then what a bonus!

Along with the Oasis remaster deluxe sets that are coming out soon, I foresee some expensive months coming up!

Some speculation that maybe Concord got their "Speeds" mixed up and RRS should really be WATSOS.... I guess we'll see

I'd actually like to see RRS come out with Venus for two reasons:
i) I think if VAM and WATSOS came out together it would just be mid-period Wings overkill for the Archive Collection.
ii) They fit together quite nicely as "stoned millionaire has no-one to tell him 'actually, Paul'..." albums. They're probably, along with LT, his whimsiest, pot-addled, directionless albums (not that there's anything wrong with that :-D ). Both packed full of melodies, great harmonies, but with that air of 70s pointlessness about them.

my wife just heard the song treat her gently for the first time on the radio. she was upset i hadn't played it for her yet. so...we sat through V&M for the first time...it is now in her top 5 macca albums. but the cd i have is a muddy recording. it desperately needs a remastering.

i too have heard V&M and WATSOS are next.

after that...TOW and POP. bundle them together and give us a massive war and peace?
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

Aside from muddy sounding, V&M has the thinnest sound of any Paul solo album. The electric guitars sound like they were amped to 1 instead of 11 (to borrow a SPINAL TAP line).

It's also "soft" sounding. Especially songs like "Magneto & Titanium Man," and "Letting Go." The live versions of those songs rock much harder, are much more crisp sounding.

The whole album--save for the brilliant "Listen To What The Man Said," and the period piece, "You Gave Me The Answer"-- sounds weak and thin and out of focus. It's like Paul was smoking so much weed then, the mixing board got a huge contact high.
in years to come/they may discover/what the air we breathe and the life we lead are all about/but it won't be soon enough for me
