Agreed - this whole mentality of "they have weapons so we have to as well" is just plunging the world deeper into it all . . .

Well, Liam, you have to understand. England doesn't have the gun problem we do. Here, it is very easy for any sicko to buy a gun. Hence, we have a lot of criminals with guns. Therefore, our law enforcement HAVE TO carry firearms in order to protect themselves and the public. Furthermore, citizens have the right to protect their families with firearms. There's not much you can do with a baseball bat when a psychopath breaks into your house with a 9mm. It's sad, yes. But it's just the way it is here.

And whose stupid idea was it in the first place to make it that easy to buy a gun?

The funny thing is, Liam, it's actually harder NOW more than EVER to buy a gun, yet it's STILL relatively easy! It's in our Constitution that we have the "right to bear arms." Basically, it's been lawful since the 1700's.

No doubt.

It's a sad irony that the human race is at its most "together" state when it is at war. Normally, every human being thinks every other human being is insane. At war, whole countries think other countries are insane . . . a sad irony indeed.

Great point. After 9/11, everyone here was in this loving, compassionate mood towards each other. Everyone wanted to help out his/her neighbour. Then, just a few short months later, people were flicking each other off in traffic again. We definitely have a short memory span.
