Paul & Ringo to perform together at Grammys

Postby tristanjblythe » Wed Jan 15, 2014 4:13 am

The Fab Two are to hit the stage together at the Grammy Awards (according to NME). Surprisingly no news if they are going to be at the Grammy's Beatles tribute the next night (yet).

Wonder what they'll perform - my guess A Little Help From My Friends will be one.

Letterman is also trying to get them. His show, as most know, is taped at the old Ed Sullivan theater, where the you know whos made their American TV debut 50 years ago.

That would be fun! Both have appeared on Letterman before. Macca played on top of the theater's marquee a few years back, ala the LET IT BE rooftop concert.

I'm sure "With A Little Help..." will be one of the songs.

Since Paul wrote (and performed live as a solo artist) "I Wanna Be Your Man" (yes, credited Lennon/McCartney, but I think it's Paul's baby), they might do that one, too.

Whatever they do, I'm sure it will be fun to watch!

:-W ...i know..i know...i know...it's all about the beatles...there's all that folderol with parties and specials and concerts...

still....it'd be frikkin nice if they both said to heck with conventional thinking and did something ballsy...something way outside the box...

...if ringo can pop off beatle tracks he did not write with his all-stars and paul can rock it out with the surviving members of nirvana...maybe it's time to bring out zack, julian, dhanni, james and sean and do it up right...in honor of and all...

dear prudence...rocky racoon...i am the walrus...oh darlin'...octopus' garden...while my guitar gently weeps...all you need is love...she's so heavy...come together...don't pass me by...good night

anything but the mundane...something never done...and what better time to do it

...ah, well...you know what aerosmith said....
lift up your head...and remember what your life is !

interesting, Mr. H. But, they probably won't do that. In fact, I think it's a safe bet they won't!

Actually, I am quite looking forward to them doing the old singalong, "With A Little Help From My Friends." Because it's a Ringo vocal, I don't think it's ever quite gotten the level of serious respect it should have gotten. Even though Joe Cocker did a classic cover, and others have covered it, too.

Then again, maybe they WON'T do that one. But, I'd be shocked if they didn't!

I've always wondered how close the 2 of them really are. At times watching them I wondered if Ringo was just tolerating Paul. I know it's all about ego but they did something very special in the Early Days. I agree with MrH. Love to see a bunch of them out there rocking. Anyway I hope it's fun.

I think Yesterday would be a great option so Ringo can rest his drumsticks

lol, MHNSO. A GIVE MY REGARDS TO BROAD STREET reference!

I think Paul and Ringo get along just fine. But, then, I'm basing it on NOTHING. Just what we see and read, which is really just snapshots of their lives.
