Don't think I can justify splashing for the box, but will get me a butcher sleeve for sure!

I bought the American album CD boxes a few years ago. I think a couple might be missing, but the majority are there. That's enough for me. I had all the vinyl originals at one time...probably several copies of some of them.

I have the two Capitol box sets that came out about 10 years ago. Man, do they pale in comparison to the proper British albums. Toilet bowl mix, anyone? I'm intrigued that the Hey Jude album is getting a proper release though.

Well apparently these aren't using the proper Capitol mixes. If so, I don't really understand the point of it coming out.

I don't think the point of the original CD releases of the American albums were the "sound." Everyone knows the sound of the American stuff was inferior and screwed around with. It was a trip down memory lane, to get those album covers (even if in miniature). Most of us (over 50, anyway) were introduced to the Fabs via the American albums, so it's a natural marketing strategy.

I'll pass on this, thank you very much.

Whaa? They're not the American mixes? Then I really don't see the point. I suppose if you want the American covers, but I've still got all my original American vinyl lps... :?

Think I'm going to try and get Capitol Albums Vol II (it's only £40 on Amazon UK at the moment) and then top it up with the CD's of Hard Day's Night, Yesterday and Today and Hey Jude
