it's still just a filler song to me...a link to make the album sound connected. Nothing wrong with that, but, to make it one of the "three great songs in a row" considering the rest of the possibilities...well, everyone's entitled to their opinion, so, what do I know?

just a humble thought...some of my favorite 'songs' would be (and quite often are) considered to be nothing but 'filler'

you know my name, look up my number
check my machine
lunch box/odd sox
why don't we do it in the road
ou est le soleil
cosmically conscious/down to the river

for that matter...'mccartney' would not be the simple yet great album it is without it's fillers (singalong junk), toss-offs (oo you) and asides (hot as sun) ...they enrich the fabric of the canvas with small flourishes all thier own....

philosophically...all these've been labeled as everything from unfinished to 'filler'...even leftovers...by fans forever...

to me, what they truly represent is the certain knowledge that each has one distinct thing in common: at that exact moment in time...as paul mccartney put together that track list for that album he had been creating...deciding what to put on, what to leave off...in what exact what order they should appear...

he thought enough of each and every one of them them to put them right there where they are...

"what do we know about music ? what do we know ? what do we know about music ? what do we know...? what do we really know ??" P. McCartney

I don't argue your point, Mr. H. I'm only thinking in terms of how I would put the "3 in a row" together. I love filler songs.

it's a testament as to how many great songs this guy has done that there are so many worthy suggestions.

i'd guess we could isolate just one single album and still have a debatable three song list.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

Yes. WATSOS would be difficult to come up with two consecutive songs, never mind three...but, that's just me.

yeah....let em in/the note you never wrote/shes my baby/beware my love/wino junko/silly love songs/cook of the house/time to hide/must do something about it/san ferry anne/warm and beautiful/...

imho...every one is a good song...every one is a fine song...none are, for me, bad songs...yet, none are great songs, especially compared to, in many cases, their imminent live versions...which kick all sort of bootay over these...

chalk it up in my book...this album is...the weakest link...
