Guests on the Queenie Eye video

Postby oobujoobu1971 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 3:42 pm

I've been watching the Queenie Eye video today, and trying to figure out who all the guest stars are that are on it.

I assume some of the people are not meant to be known (apart from to their friends and family!) but there are of course some BIG names on there. Can we maybe try and compile a list of all the famous names on the video?

I'll start with the ones I know-

Paul (of course)
Giles Martin
Johnny Depp
Meryl Streep
Kate Moss
James Corden
Gary Barlow
Tracy Ullman
Jeremy Irons

It's a pretty awful video though.....! Though I must admit... Kate Moss still cleans up pretty smokingly!

IMO, one of his best music videos in a long time. Way better than The World Tonight (think beach & umbrella), No Other Baby (boat rowing), Brown Eyed Handsome Man (why was there hip hop scratching at the beginning?), Lonely Road, Freedom, and Ever Present Past.

Dance Tonight & Fine Line are also good ones. I would've liked to have seen a full version of the iTunes commercial for Dance Tonight if one was made. The animation for the :30 commercial was really good.

It reminds me of the C'mon People video, been many years since I saw it, but I remember it involved him sat at the piano in the studio while all sorts went on around him (thought that had the cool effect of evertyhing around him being in fast forward while Paul was at normal speed).

Anyway, anyone spotted anyone else they recognise? Wasn't sure if one of them was Jude Law.

Sean Penn too...
So I stood with a knot in my stomach,
And I gazed at that terrible sight
Of two youngsters concealed in a barrel,
Sucking monkberry moon delight.

I would have enjoyed Willie Nelson in the video sharing one of his giant spliffs with Paul and Meryl Streep.

Is that Sean Penn towards the end with scruffy hair sat on a chair?

I've just spotted Peter Blake (Sgt. Pepper album cover designer) just over 3 minutes in, sat down with a walking stick.

I presume him and Paul have sorted their long standing financial disagreement then!

Doesn't really add much to the song though, some random famous people milling about. The song has so many twists and turns, and all we get to complement it is a bored-looking Johnny Depp and Peter Blake hobbling about. Even as a video for New it'd be ok as its a strightforward dancey song that seeing people bopping along to it in a studio would be nice. But this song deserved something more avant garde than a story-less video with a sleepy Paul and disappearing random famous people
