Wow. Thanks, Savillerowdie.

That is an incredible song. You don't hear Paul sound so honest, so revealing. This is a rare moment where he does...and the song is just brilliant. It's sort of a combination of the Johnny Cash-like AMERICAN RECORDINGS (wouldn't it be nice to see Paul get together with Rick Rubin, and explore this kind of thing more?) and melding into a more McCartney-ish/Beatley-ish finish.

Again. Wow.

yes...i would like to see macca work with rubin

at the very least, the new recording shows well that if he works with a strong, inventive producer...like he did on, say PTP :-D ...he can turn in some mighty creative and interesting stuff

So you have listened now mr H I Some tracks from New sound à bit like what Press could have been with better songs and production. Because New is an amalgam between posongsritet/commerscial Paul and expiremental Fireman, press,McCartney 2 Paul. Put some minimalistic acoustic à la McCartney, some Ram excentricitets and the White album Bestles.

Mr. H, Rick Rubin (as you know, and many of us know) has absolutely resurrected some folks' careers. Or at least pushed them to do things they either hadn't done in years (Johnny Cash's series of AMERICAN RECORDINGS), or NEVER did (Neil Diamond, who I've always despised-- yet the two CD's he did with Rubin have made me a fan of Diamond's-- at least on those albums).

He also produced the best (and, alas, the last) Dixie Chicks album, as well.

Memo to Macca: Work with Rubin!!!!!

Rubin has produced plenty of good stuff from Jay-z to Johnny Cash. I really like Cash s american recordings but being à big cashfan actually like his SUN and Columbiarecordings better. Can t really see in what way a cooperation with Rubin should better anything in Maccas work. The two most acoustic songs New and Hosannah are beatyfully produced by Ethan Jones. Wouldn t mind an album full of stuff like that but no need to call in Rubin.
