Macca - one cover you'd like to hear him do

Postby blmeanie » Thu Oct 10, 2013 2:17 pm

While listening on "shuffle" the other day, and with all the hype of Paul's new album, I began projecting on each song whether Paul signing it would be good/better?

It is kind of a game I play now while listening, it might not be healthy but i figured this place would understand.

So...any song you'd like to hear Paul cover that he's not ever publicly recorded? How big a tribute would that be if he covered a random song during a show?

what ?!?
BM !!!

i'm shocked...you offer up this...tease...and have no suggestion yourself ??
wimp !!

PJ ?, eddie...no surprise...how about 'not for you'...or 'long road'...nah: LR..it'd be nice to see him tackle a growly rocker worthy of a chap who can still plonk out 'helter skelter'

'the whole of the moon' the waterboys: i'd like to see paul get celtic/folk/rock-ish...and this as a near perfect song

..a bit more of a dream might be him doing 'friday i'm in love' by youknowho

Fair enough mr h

The song that got me thinking about it was "I don't like Mondays" by the boomtown rats. I can absolutely picture Paul singing lead, maybe not as much of an edge as Bob Geldof had but I think it would sound good nonetheless

Johnny Cash's "Further On Up The Road". Also, Bob Dylan's "Love Minus Zero".

I was thinking the other day it might be cool to hear Paul do some more of John's and George's Beatles songs in his shows. His Uke version of Something was nothing short of brilliant. I'd like to see more of that kind of tribute. Paul singing I Am the Walrus would be pretty bad ass if you ask me.

Non Beatles stuff. I think Paul missed a great opportunity to sing Cobain's part on a Nirvanna song when he had the rest of the band playing with him last year. McCartney doing the Yeah yeah yeah's on Lithium would have pretty epic.

I wonder if they did do a couple of Nirvana songs while they were in the studio. Nothing serious, just sort of goofing around and not recording it. Who knows what goes on when the tape recorders are not recording.
