I'll have to say New, but Live at the BBC vol.2 isn't far behind.

yeah, i'm going to echo efghi. the new paul abum, no doubt. it isn't really even that close for me. because...a new paul release just oozes thrills for me. and this one is no different. in fact, it's greater than what it usually is...because for the first time in ages...I love the first single.

then...after I've digested the new one for a while...i'll get excited about the live a the bbc...i'm just busy being excited about something else first.
I want to tell her that I love her a lot, but I got to get a belly full of wine.

Surprised not more love for the Lewisohn book. I don't think the level of research or historical attention that he's given to it is ever going to be repeated. 1,000 pages and it's only going up to 1962!

but..that's just it, james...ONE THOUSAND PAGES.... ..

i read an excerpt the other day...it went like this:...

...page 200...
"john, he one who is lennon, decided to go to the bathroom. only he'd never been in a pub that had two, so he sat and pondered about the existentiality of two bathrooms.
this, of course took some time, during which the waitress, if you can call her that (if she was even a she: her name was lola, after all) came by and asked him what he was doing. john told her he was pondering the idea of two bathrooms.
thru the din of the pub, she thought he said two mushrooms and said the pink ones were better. john laughed at the worplay and went back to his musings....
john finally decided to use the bathroom on the left because, he mused, women are always right. john got up off the floor and made his way to the now proper facility only to be cut off by sid the fishmonger, who wanted to know if john had seen the paper that morning....
john finally entered the Bathroom only to..."

well, you get the picture...yawn

Agreed James, I'm fairly sure I've been hearing about this project for at least 15 years, so it's great that we're finally going to see the first results of it. Mark Lewisohns Recording Sessions and Chronicles books are the ultimate reference guide, no one in the world is better qualified than he is to tell this story. Definitely one for the Christmas list! :santa

I've read SO many books on the Beatles, it's really hard to get excited about another one. I'm not opposed to it, mind you, just a little leery. I'm sure it will be very nice and there will probably be a time when this will interest me more, but not right now.
